In the skylight settings you should be able to tell it not to use the MVO settings.
Then you can set it independently.
But this still may not suit every storey view as I don't think the skylights are storey sensitive.

There is an old legacy option in PREFERENCES that you can turn on but you will also need to convert to single roof planes.
Not sure if that will help at all.

Yeah skylights seem to be a bit archaic. It would be great if you could have them display on certain stores like most other objects. Ive ended up converting the skylight to a morph, and then using the settings to display what story it can be seen on. It seems to work fine. Will just be annoying if the skylight changes size - then needs to be re-morphed. I think its better than just drawing a polyline, as if i drew a polyline for the outline, I would have to draw a polyline for the whole roof outline, which seems a bit stupid.

Thanks anyway

Hello everyone,

I'm having a small issue that I can't solve on my own and I can't find an online solution.

We have migrated a project from AC 17 to AC 20 and all objects have been migrated except the zone stamp tool which remains as AC 17 version. Is there a way to change it to a new version?

Kind regards

It depends on what window objects you have.
But with any of the Graphisoft windows you can use them with the corner window tool.
You should then be able to turn corner connection type to 'Glass'.

Is there an update for this object so it works with ArchiCAD 21?

If you try to activate the Accessories palette the UI disappears and the palette does not appear.

Or is there an alternative way of doing suspended ceilings? My initial thought was to use the Curtain Walling Tool

Hello, everyone.

I started using ArchiCAD just a few months ago and I'm having a hard time importing libraries into every project I start.

Basically, when I open a new project I go to the library manager and add the custom library (if I'm using a client's template) or the client's own template.

Then I get that warning saying that there are duplicated items and missing items.

If I "embed" the library, for some reason, those mistakes disappear, but I can't seem to have access to those objects that were, once, available (I'm talking about the standard ones that are present in the software's library).

Why is it happening and what's the best way to deal with external libraries in a projects?

Best regards,

I looked to this issue and what is interesting is that on Windows I do not get that little right-pointing arrow button to the right of the field.
So I think the way it is supposed to work normally is that you just type the name of the image you want to use in the field (without extension, I believe). But on Mac you get that arrow button.
I will forward this to GRAPHISOFT for investigation.

I don't know what could be causing issue, but what you can try is to go to the Zone Categories Dialog and change the Zone Stamps assigned to each of the Zone Categories from a AC17 Zone Stamp to its AC20 equivalent (provided it is in the loaded libraries).

You should always handle duplicate and missing library part issues, but I don't think embedding is the best solution. You should be able to track down the exact library parts.
Can you post a specific Library Loading Report that shows a duplicate library part error. We can show you how to sort it out then you will be able to sort out the rest.

Place separate doors and windows next to the corner windows.
You will then want to look at the ganging options if you want to share frames and casing.

Append current value to the array from UI

I wonder if somebody could help me with my problem. I have added several fields to the layout info and I am reading these from my object (from LAYOUT_REVISION_HISTORY).

Now I would like to have a button to append current values of these fields to some array and display them.

I try to find a way to trigger action of appending current value to the array from UI. Is it possible to trigger some macro from interface or parameter script that would append current value? I want to store this array within gdl object rather than write to file.

Thank you for help,

Maciek

Forward Migration, Help Please?

Hello,

I have a scale bar object that needs to be forward migrated into AC21 from AC19 and then all variations need to be added to favourites in AC21. These will be two separate objects. All variations already exist in the AC19 favourites. There are too many variations for manually changing each object and there is too much room for error to the point that it just isn't practical. Firstly, is using the Forward Migration script the best way of doing this? and if so how do I use it correctly as I cannot seem to work it out from the graphisoft reference guide? Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks

edit: This is what I have in my forward migration script and it isn't working. I don't understand.
actualGuid = FROM_GUID
if actualGuid = "27D27CB8-5923-458A-80FA-6A8EC6B78CFF-CD32FA39-611C-47A7-A038-153F79AB5332" then
actualGuid = "27D27CB8-5923-458A-80FA-6A8EC6B78CFF-ABCDACD1-CE3F-CA4F-9195-B15EB1DAFA5F"
endif
SETMIGRATIONGUID actualGuid

edit 2: The idea is that the template from 19 will be moved to 21 and then the objects within will transfer to the new version of the object.

Trim elements to roof shell

Hi,

I have a wall that had been trimmed to a roof, I then raised then roof but the wall did not follow up with the height. I then tried the "clear all connections" option for the wall and it doesn't work, I tried it on other walls and it isn't working on them either?

Thanks

Check the height of the Wall. The Trim command will cut a Wall, but will not extend its height.
