problems with Materials

It isn't the surface material of the slab you need to change it is the building material.
Check the building material and I think you will find you are using marble.

If you want a uniform cut material rather than the element's own material then you can go into the 'Filter and Cut Elements in 3D' (CTRL+ALT+A on Windows) and you can set a custom cut surface.

Thanks but the marble that appears in the pic isn't used in this project at all. It appeared after I installed the BIM object, now I have deleted it from the library and it is back to normal, so there was definitely something weird with the BIM Object.

Hello, I'm not sure if a regular window can do that, but you can do it with a custom window. If you don't know how to make a custom window, type custom Windows in the knowledge Center, and you'll find explanations how to do it

Displaying High Windows

Hello,

I am trying to have my 6 windows (as seen on the elevations) that are on a different story appear on my noted floor plan. When the windows are on the main floor story but above the cutting plane height I can changed them to " projected with overhead" or "overhead all" and they will appear but I can't figure out how to have the appear on the main floor plan when they are on a different story. Any help would be great.

Hello,

Radio buttons should work as nGhost suggested. Maybe
adding a value script does the trick?

Are they two separate installations? If it is a single folder, you may have to remove the education.lic license document from the ArchiCAD folder (and insert your dongle if you use one).

Go to the Display Options> Plan View> Opening Doors and change to 90 (note that with swing doors the opening setting is in degrees, in bifold and sliding doors it is a percentage)

The opening screen says it is by Eptar, their web site is www.eptar.hu, you can try contacting them.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

How to get decent Trees/People in Elevation/Section?

Hey people!
All trees have a special symbol for 2D Plan view, however when viewed from a section/elevation they look like a rendition of the 3D view.

Is there a way (besides turning off their layer and adding 2D trees in their place) to get a symbol for trees/people in elevation view, that corresponds with their size and place automatically?

Thanks for the help. I have it displaying correctly now. My problem was that I had chosen the bifold window from the cadimage windows but had put 2 bifold windows instead of having one window and splitting that up into 4 window panes (if that makes sense )

Hello everyone.

I am trying to create an object that should be used for Projects from our Bim server. If a user is trying to use it on Projects who are not loaded on our Bim Server, then should not work, if make sense.

What you suggest for this?

1. I was thinking to protect that object using the Bim Server license, based on the fact that users are using a borrowed license. [not sure if that will work].

2. I was thinking to protect that object using the Path of the file. wich is on my Bim Server on a certain drive.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

Zone Occupancy Field

Hi,
I am using the Zone Tool and would like to show occupancy.
In the Occupancy field of the Zone Tool, the relevant option is: "No of Persons per sqm"

The data field will not let me enter decimal points or fractions.
So how can I work out the occupancy for a room type that has 3sqm per person? or 10sqm per person, as in a typical office.

As it stands, the only option is whole numbers, and it is only in rare cases that you might need to accomodate more than 1 person per sqm, so this tool is not very useful.

Skylight

Newbie here...coming over from 20 years with Vectorcrap.

skylight is on second story but is showing up on my first floor plan...for life of me cant find setting to turn it off floor plan!

also trying to get skylight to show up on window schedule...any ideas
