I know it is an old post, but I need to do tracking in Archicad 19.
Archicad show this as a feature object, but it is nowhere to be found. Anyone else found this?
http://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/guides/archicad-18/archicad-18-int-reference-guide/archicad-18-new-features-guide/library-enhancements/other-objects/vehicle-turning-curves-selected-markets-only/

Here is a simplistic one by Cadimage, but not good enough for what I want to do.

Hi Rob,

Changed the title to something more useful.
Quick answer is that it is a Bug.
Quick work around is to use the new Snaps to find the mid point

Duplicate and Substutited Objects

This is driving me nuts...what is the difference between these two?
1]It says I have 8 duplicate objects - what does that mean? I suspect it came from the module that I have deleted. So, how do I remove that from the Library Manager?

2] The two substituted objects are my custom objects which I have resaved it after making some changes. It was confirmed with a 'replaced' message. So, why is it telling me these? Is there anything I need to do?

so the duplicated objects appear to come from a deleted module...that's resolved.
and the substituted objects appear to be 'version' of the same objects even though they are saved in the same name.

i had to redo one by one.....they are gone now for this issue.

GDL TUBE and cross-section status codes

Hi All,

I'm struggling with application of si status codes in the TUBE object, trying to hide lateral edges or surfaces.
The TUBE status consists of two parts: the main directive in first line is j1 to j8 (1+2+16+32+64+128) and affects the whole tube in a very generic manner: there are 2 for each base and 2 for lateral edges.

Then the manual says that the cross-section polyline can be controlled by si status codes for individual edge and surface visibility and the "a_codes" which introduce curves, holes, etc.

In my limited experience, ONLY the a_codes work in a given TUBE, the si codes don't seem to affect anything at all. I've tried various combinations. What am I doing wrong? If TUBE does not support si codes in the extruded shape, why is that part of the spec?
(I'm still using version 16).

Thanks!

Cosminn,

What you're talking about is easily achievable by using white text against a non-white screen background that won't print on paper. Thus said, limited protection of shared digital content is also its inherent property. If you don't want your content stolen, never share a single unencrypted copy with anyone, period.

You can hide multiple "micro-signatures" in the template that will be very hard to find and that will prove in court that you're the author, but you can't prevent any of your consultants/colleagues from grabbing and re-using a copy. If you password-protect all your GDL and force some kind of a watermark in them, what will prevent me from deleting those objects once I get a copy of a Teamwork project?

You can force your consultants to work in TW hotlinked modules only and cut off access to the main file. Will that solve more problems than it creates? IDK. That's probably what I would do if I needed to do some limited-access project. You could give them dummy substitutes of the real GDL objects loaded locally into the main project from a library that you don't share with outsiders.

You could use some GDL environmental variables (like geolocation or very specific direction of north arrow) and hard-code them in GDL objects to match your specific project, and then put a password on them. You could CALL some fine-tuned Macros that will crash all your objects outside of a very specific environment, which may be the easiest for maintenance. It will make the others' lives painful, as well as yours when it comes to tracking what's going on -- but it may successfully deter thieves.
It will still be limited to GDL only, everything else will be up for grabs.

Bottom line -- Good luck. if I can't trust the people I work with, then I probably have a bigger problem to solve. In a world when everybody just comes to grab the free stuff and walks away, you're making carefully balanced business decisions.

Sketchup (.skp) to Morph to Object with unwanted rotation

This has been happening with a few of the objects I import from Sketchup.

I import the .skp object, convert it to a morph (to cleanup the 2D lines) and then save it as an object.

The saved object gets rotated, making it difficult to place square to my plan.

I tried adding hotspots, but it still rotates.

Anyone have the same problem?
Solutions?
Thanks

Just tried it with a new "clean" file and
it worked fine.

Even though I "reset orientation"
(I was in a rotated, saved floor plan view)
in the original file.... it was the angle of the rotation... I think. Confused

EDIT:
Figured it out.
The imported object's orientation aligns to project NORTH.

I believe it is a slab "design extra". Pick a floor slab and apply it using the Design Extras>Accessories>Slab Accessories menu. Sadly, it applies the footing to every edge. There is no way to shut off a footing on a single slab edge that I've found.
